Joss Bay is a long stretch of golden sand and crystal blue waters. The beach is bordered by chalky cliffs and offers safe swimming. It can have a chilled, California-like vibe and the low tide reveals some excellent rock pools for exploring.

Renowned as the best surfing beach in Kent with a number of established surf schools located in the area that offer lessons and equipment rentals for all skill levels. The surf conditions at Joss Bay are generally ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers, with consistent waves of up to 4 feet. Experienced surfers may also enjoy the occasional larger swells that come through.

Apart from swimming and surfing, Joss Bay is a great place for a range of activities such as beach volleyball, sunbathing, and picnicking. Additionally, visitors can enjoy hiking and cycling along the nearby Viking Coastal Trail.

There are a few parking options available near Joss Bay. The beach has its own car park, which can get quite busy during peak times. Alternatively, visitors can park in the town of Broadstairs and walk down to the beach, which is around 1.5 miles away.
